Not all ethical decisions are black and white. In this fast-paced, interactive continuing education training, participants will step into a mock courtroom to explore real-world ethical dilemmas faced in therapy. Through engaging debates, attendees will examine clinical scenarios involving dual relationships, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
Using ethical codes from social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, and addiction treatment, this session highlights how professional values may conflict with cultural norms, legal obligations, or client-centered care. Participants will serve as “jury members,” voting on decisions and engaging in facilitated reflective discussion. This format is designed to strengthen critical thinking, peer dialogue, and confidence in navigating ethical gray areas.
