Dr. Witni Jackson LCSW, MAC is a dedicated and enthusiastic leader with over 15 years of experience in implementing behavioral healthcare systems in mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders in public sector organizations. Her work history includes:

 

  • Providing crisis intervention

  • Individual counseling

  • Psychosocial education 

  • Completing comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments

  • Psychosocial case management

  • Discharge planning

  • Assessment diagnosis (according to DSM-V)

  • Care coordination

  • Staff training and facility administration

 

Dr. Jackson has worked with various populations which include children, adolescents, adults, veterans, individuals with developmental disabilities, individuals with mental illness, individuals with substance use disorders, and individuals with co-occurring disorders. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance abuse  settings.

Nicole Wiesen CEO and Founder of Returning Her Home. With a passion for justice and advocacy, Nicole actively champions the rights of currently and previously incarcerated individuals, as well as their families. In her role, she collaborates with faith communities across Georgia, fostering a collective commitment to creating beloved and accepting spaces. Through these partnerships, Nicole strives to establish communities that warmly embrace returning citizens, facilitating a seamless transition into society. Her work not only addresses the challenges of mass incarceration but also seeks to promote understanding, compassion, and support for those affected by the criminal justice system. Ms. Wiesen received her PhD. From Capella University in Human Services with an emphasis in Social and Community Services, a BSW & MSW from Barry University in Clinical Social Work and has a certificate as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist.

Nakia Thomas, LCSW, BACS, is a dedicated social worker with nearly three decades of experience in mental health and social services. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2001 and, driven by a passion for creating meaningful change, obtained her Master of Social Work in 2006. Since beginning her career in 1995, she has worked in various settings, including inpatient geriatric psychiatry, case management for elderly and developmentally delayed populations, and hospice care, deepening her understanding of the critical need for effective coping skills across the lifespan. Currently, she serves as a School Social Worker for the district school board, where she facilitates special education evaluations and provides counseling. Beyond her formal responsibilities, she finds great fulfillment in empowering parents to advocate for their children as they transition into adulthood. Ms. Thomas’ extensive experience and commitment to social work continue to drive her mission of fostering resilience, advocacy, and support for individuals and families navigating life’s challenges.
